01
LESSON PLANS
Throughout the Climate Wise Schools and Students project, the partner schools developed a common Green Curriculum focused on climate change and environmental sustainability.
The Green Curriculum brought together 12 environmental topics, developed by the partner schools and implemented throughout the two years of the project. It provided a common framework for exploring environmental challenges from an interdisciplinary and European perspective, encouraging students to learn, collaborate and explore sustainable solutions.
02
GAMIFICATIONS
Throughout the Climate Wise Schools and Students project, gamification was used to make climate change education more active, collaborative and engaging. The partner schools developed a collection of game-based lesson plans covering different environmental topics and involving students from the six participating countries.
The activities combined digital challenges, quizzes, interactive tasks, teamwork, research, problem-solving and rewards, encouraging students to learn about environmental issues while actively participating in their learning. Badges and labels were also used in several activities to recognise students' progress and achievements.
The gamifications also included an important intercultural dimension. Students worked in international teams, explored environmental practices and challenges in the partner countries, and shared ideas and solutions connected with their own communities.
The activities presented below were developed by the partner schools as part of the project's Green Curriculum and game-based climate education resources.
03
ESCAPES ROOMS
Educational escape rooms were developed as one of the project's main gamification and collaborative learning methodologies, combining problem-solving, teamwork and climate education.
During the staff training in Braga, Portugal, from 8–12 September 2025, teachers explored the educational potential of escape rooms and worked on the design of challenges connected with the project's environmental topics. The activity encouraged teachers to experiment with this methodology and consider how it could be adapted to different subjects, ages and school contexts.
The partner schools subsequently developed and implemented climate-related escape rooms based on the topics addressed through the project's Green Curriculum. Students had to solve challenges, find clues, collaborate with their classmates and apply their knowledge to progress through the activities.
The escape rooms transformed environmental learning into an active and immersive experience, encouraging communication, teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking while increasing students' awareness of climate change and sustainable action.
04
ECO CAMP
The Eco Camp was a hands-on learning experience designed to bring students closer to environmental issues through creativity, experimentation and teamwork.
Students worked with recycled and natural materials to create musical instruments, produce artwork using natural pigments and represent different ecosystems. The activities connected environmental education with art, music, science and collaborative learning, encouraging students to discover how everyday materials and natural resources can be used creatively and responsibly.
05
GREEN KITE FESTIVAL
The Green Kite Festival was a creative environmental activity involving students from Early Childhood Education to the second year of Secondary Education. Students designed and decorated kites inspired by climate change and environmental awareness, incorporating the logos and symbols of the Erasmus+ project and its partner schools.
The activity combined art, creativity, environmental awareness and European participation, giving students an opportunity to express their ideas about the climate while celebrating the cooperation developed among the partner schools.
